Al Rayyan have the edge in derby tie

Al Rayyan have the superiority over Al Arabi in their last five encounters  ahead of their much antacipated derby game at Al Arabi stadium. QSL online has decided to look at the results down the years to see who will have the edge ahead of the Saturday evening clash. From these eight fixtures, Al Rayyan have won 3 games, Al Arabi won on one occasion and they both tied in four matches.

A total of 25 goals  have been scored in the 8 games with an average of 3.12 goals per match, Al Arabi have scored 9 goals while Al Rayyan  has scored 16 goals.

In the 2011/2012 season, the tie ended their first leg fixture while Al Arabi won the second leg game by three goals.The draw marked their both legs matches in the 2012/2013 season with a goalless tie and by four goals each respectively.

The 2013/2014 season witnessed Al Arabi winning the first leg match by one goal while both sides draw in the second leg by one goal each. Both Al Arabi and Al Rayyan didn’t meet in the 2014/2015 season due to Al Rayyan playing in the Qatar Gas League.

In the previous season 2015/2016 which witnessed the strong return of Al Rayyan, Al Rayyan defeated Al Arabi in the first leg match 5-2 then Al Rayyan again was victorious in the second leg by two goals.
