
Al Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira has been crowned the coach of the year at the QFA awards this evening. The 70 year old coach picked up the award at the QNCC beating nominees Djamel Belmadi and Sabri Lamouchi to the crown.
The Veteran Portuguese coach has enjoyed considerable success in his first full season with the Wolves, finishing second in the QSL standings just behind champions Lekhwiya. Whilst in the cup competitions Ferriera has excelled, guiding Al Sadd to their first ever success in the Qatar Cup defeating El Jaish 2-1. Whilst Ferriera also took Sadd all the way to Emir Cup glory, masterminding a 2-1 victory over Al Rayyan just 24 hours previously.
Ferriera oversaw an impressive 13 game undefeated streak in the league, as Al Sadd set the early pace in the QSL. Under Ferriera, Al Sadd enjoyed a memorable season of free flowing football with plenty of goals. Personally the Portuguese boss picked up the QSL coach of the month award on one occasion.
The Al Sadd boss can now add the prestigious QFA coach of the year award to the already long list of his career achievements.
