Al Sadd coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 2 match against Al Arabi.
“There is a big difference between the derby and other matches. Derby matches always make the players eager to win. We had been the best in the last two seasons in our Qatar Derby matches against Al Arabi in terms of score, level and performance.

“The two teams are renewing the rivalry in the new season. Al Arabi have improved significantly over the last season, so the derby will be stronger and better this time.

“Preparations were good despite the hot weather and humidity. We have been working since 12th July to get the players ready for the new season. We are seeking titles and we take it step by step in the QNB Stars League," said Ferreira.

Al Sadd player Yasser Abubakr said, “We are all geared up to face Al Arabi. Matches between Al Sadd and Al Arabi are special in terms of huge spectator turnout and we must stay all focused to keep winning matches.”
