As part of the Qatar Stars League Management’s (QSLM) bid to engage itself with the community and build large fan bases for the clubs, students of Evolution Sports Qatar attended the QNB Stars League Week 17 match between Al Gharafa and Al Kharaitiyat on Friday.
The children watched the game, that kicked off at the Al Gharafa Stadium at 18:55, on the invitation of QSL’s Events Department.
They came to the game following their participation in the Juniors Stars League (JSL), sponsored by the QSL and organised by Evolution Sports Qatar. The students escorted both teams’ players to the field.
More than 1,000 students, in the 7-16 age category, are playing in the JSL.
The tournament, which started in the beginning of October, will be held till the end of this academic year. Matches are played at different venues, while Doha College is the main training centre.
Teams are named after the QNB Stars League clubs and wear identical colours. The QSLM provides the clothing and equipment, acknowledging the youngsters’ passion and love for football, while Evolution Sports Qatar is facilitating the pitches.
Matches are being played on Fridays and Saturdays. After their fixtures, the students are keen to watch their favourite teams and stars in action in the QNB Stars League.
Youngsters will also have the opportunity to meet star players in person and also attend some training sessions. At the same time, seniors will attend the Junior Stars League games to motivate the up-and-coming players.
