El Jaish qualified to the quarter finals of the AFC Champions League for the first time in their history despite losing 4-2 against Lekhwiya on Wednesday night at the Al Sadd stadium in the second leg of the round of 16. El Jaish benefited from their victory in the first leg in which they scored four goals without reply.
Congolese attacker Djoko Kaluyituka gave a perfect start to Lekhwiya, scoring the first goal of the game in the eighth minute. Despite a resilient first half performance by the Lekhwiya players, they could not prevent the Soldiers from equalizing.
