The Club Licensing Committee of Qatar Stars League met in October, 2017, to consider applications from member clubs for AFC Club Licences.

Clubs were assessed in the areas of sporting, infrastructure, personnel, legal, financial and business criteria.

After reviewing the summary of submissions, the Club Licensing Committee agreed to award AFC Club Licenses to:

Al Duhail

Al Gharafa

Al Rayyan

Al Sadd

Umm Salal

The application of Al Kharaitiyat was rejected.

AFC Club Licenses are valid for one season only, namely 2018.
