Young Arabi midfielder relishing derby match up

Al Arabi midfielder Omar Al-Amadi is expecting a tough encounter when his side takes on Al Sadd in the QSL match of the week. The youngster gave his thoughts on the game in a exclusive interview with QSL online.

Opening up the interview, Amadi revealed his excitement ahead of the derby match. “Playing against Al Sadd is wonderful especially if you are a member of Al Arabi squad and taking into consideration it is the Qatar derby, we are aiming for the win.”

When asked about the Al Sadd squad, Amadi stressed that he preffered to focus on his own sides work. “ We don't focus on one particular player from Al Sadd. The priority is for correcting our mistakes we committed in the previous games, that is the key to improve our performance against Al Sadd.”

This will be the second game of new head coach Edison Aguirre and Amadi noted that the side has showed signs of improvement. “The training sessions with the new head coach witness more fighting spirit than before. Our performance wasn't sufficient during the previous league rounds, but indeed it was improved in the recent game versus Al Gharafa in particular the first half.”

“I am urging Al Arabi Club fans to come and support the team. We are still at the beginning of the league campaign and we promise them that the coming results will be better.” added the defensive midfielder.

Al Arabi have just creeped into the QSL relegation places and have not registered a win in five games, despite this Amadi belives his side can get the win. “Al Arabi have many great inderviduals, but i feel that if we come together as a team, we can achieve a good result against Al Sadd.”

Amadi ended the interview, reiterating his sides top four ambitions despite their slow start to the season; “We are still in round seven of the QSL season and it is still early so there is no doubt that we can still finish in the top four places. At this stage we have to go step by step and focus more in the coming games before thinking about the top four spots.”
