Al Sadd’s Iranian international defender Morteza Pouraliganj has assured that the coming game versus Al Gharafa in Round 21 of the QSL next Monday will be very tough clash, with no other alternative otherthan the victory for Al Sadd. Pouraliganji sat down with QSL online for an exclusive interview ahead of the Monday evening clash.
What do you think about the next game versus Al Gharafa?
It is going to be big challenge, Al Sadd have no other alternative but to achieve victory and continue winning after the recent two victories against Al Khor and Al Arabi.
What are your preparations for this game?
Al Ghrafa is a tough team, with some good players. It is a difficult test against a strong team. We are currently preparing well and are taking one game at a time. We have several tough matches coming in the league and the cup competitions.
Al Sadd defeated Al Gharafa in the first leg, Will you be able to repeat the win?
Well I wasn’t with the side, so I cannot speak about this game. However are preparations have gone well, we are ready to battle on Monday.
What is your message to Al Sadd fans?
We promise to achieve more and battle on the in the pitch for them. On an individual level, I promise them to help my team win the coming games, especially after I scored my first goal in the previous match versus Al Arabi.
What is the reason behind the poor results recently?
The team is going through tough period in view of the missing and injured players. Currently the team is performing well especially with the return of lots of key players in the squad.
What is your ambition as a team this season?
I have limitless ambition with Al Sadd. Despite the short period of time I spent with them, I think we can achieve great things this year.
Is the team capable of winning any title this season?
We have become a better squad, after the returning players we certainly can challenge. Our objective is to compete for the titles of both Qatar Cup and Emir Cup.
What are the difficulties you faced so far in QSL?
Since I joined the team and everything is going well. Overcoming difficulties in football needs huge determination, which is available in Al Sadd team.
