Majid looking forward to ‘True Test’ of Sadd’s title credentials
Al Sadd central defender Imbrahim Majid is confident that his side can get a result against rivals Al Gharafa to maintain their standing at the top of the QSL standings. The Qatar international gave his thoughts on the game in an exclusive interview with QSL online.
Opening up the conversation, the 26 year old defender predicted a tough encounter for his Al Sadd side. “The match against Al Gharafa will be a major challenge, no doubt. This game will be a true test of our abilities to fight for the QSL titles.”
Indeed the Wolves have started the QSL season in fine form, and have yet to taste defeat this term. Magid suggested that team-work was essential to his side’s solid start. “We have started the season well. I think that’s down to the atmosphere in the squad, we are all willing to fight for each other which is important when looking to win a championship.”
Looking towards the tie against Al Gharafa and the central defender is well aware of the threat posed from Al Gharafa’s front line. “Krisztián Németh will be a danger for Gharafa. He is a strong, technical player who was the European Championships in the summer. We will have to play well to keep him quiet.”
“We certainly have the quality in the squad to remain in the top spot. We are not getting too excited just yet; the season is only four matches old. I think if we take our time and focus on each game the league is a realistic target” explained Majid when asked about his side’s title ambitions.
Ending the interview the young defender stressed his sides desire to relift the QSL falcon shield. “We have not won the league for three years now, for us this is a long time. I hope, God willing that with the support of the fans we can achieve our aims starting with a victory over Al Gharafa.”
