QSL online caught up with Al Rayyan’s and Qatar U23 star Ahmed Alla, to get his thoughts on the much anticipated Qatari Clasico against Al Sadd.

How do you think the Clasico against Al Sadd will go?
It’s going to be a tough game, as all Qatari Clasico’s are. Al Rayyan may have already won the title, but every game against Sadd is a major challenge. This game will be the same.

What is your expectation for the match?
It’s hard to expect in games like this. They are big derby games, expect plenty of surprises.
Are you looking for revenge after the defeat in the first leg?
Revenge is not on Al Rayyan’s mind. We are just looking at each game individually. Both sides want to win.

Why has Al Rayyan dipped off in recent weeks after winning the league?
I don’t think we have dipped off in terms of performances in recent weeks. The manager has changed players to give them a chance, whilst resting some key players that is what has been happening at the moment.

Did winning the QSL title affect your form?
No it didn’t, but the team is now playing with a freedom since lifting the title. We are still looking to win every game from now till the end of the season and in the Qatar Cup.

How do you assess your personal performance with the team this season?
I will always give my best for the side, even if I am playing on the pitch or on the bench. I will let the training staff asses how I am getting on.

After winning the league title, is Al Rayyan capable of winning more titles?
Of course! Al Rayyan have proved themselves to be the best players in the country , our objective this season is the treble.

What is the next target for Al Rayyan?
Our next target is the Qatar Cup, that will be our next aim.

Do you have any messages for the Al Rayyan fans?
I would like to thank them for supporting the team over this season. They played a major part in winning the QSL title, we hope they can continue to support us and push on for more titles this season.
