Al Sailiya are in an upbeat mood as they gear up for their QNB Stars League Round 8 fixture against hosts Al Gharafa, scheduled for 18th November.
Al Sailiya had leapfrogged Umm Salal to the fourth spot in standings by beating them 3-2 in the last round before the league went into a two-week break. The Peregrines are on 15 points, four behind leaders Al Duhail.
In between, they lost to Al Khor and Al Duhail by an identical 1-2 margin in the third and fourth round respectively to bow out of the QSL Cup, where Tunisian coach Sami Trabelsi had provided young players with opportunities.
Ahead of the Al Gharafa test, the team management praised the performance of technical staff as well as players and urged them to continue the good run. Trabelsi and his wards, divided into three groups, started training on Tuesday evening.
