QNB Stars League side Al Rayyan left for Tehran on Sunday for their AFC Champions League match against Iran’s Esteghlal scheduled for Monday. The kick-off is at 18:30 Doha time.

Al Rayyan are second in Group D with six points behind Esteghlal, so The Lions will be keen to win the game and go top of the group.

Al Ain are third with four points, followed by Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal on two.

Al Rayyan and Esteghlal had played out a 2-2 draw in the first round in Doha.

Al Rayyan players underwent rigorous training in Doha and Danish coach Michael Laudrup announced the squad of 18 players before their departure. They are Omar Barri, Saoud Al Khater, Mohammed Alaaeldin, Gonzalo Vieira, Moussa Haroun, Ahmed Yasser, Mohammed Juma, Ahmed Abdulmaqsoud, Koh Myong-Jin, Daniel Goumou, Rodrigo Tabata, Mohsen Moutaouly, Sebastian Soria, Abderrazaq Hamdallah, Abdulrahman Al Harazi, Mohammed Kassola, Ali Sanad Al Naimi and Abdulrahman Al Karbi.

The delegation also includes General Manager Ali Zafar Al Ahbabi, Team Managers Omar Al Azani and Mazkar Al Shafi, and Under-23 side manager Khalid Osman.
