The Asian Football Confederation formed their standing committees for the 2015 to 2019 cycle.
 
It was represented by the distinguished Saoud Al Mohannadi, Vice President of AFC and QFA, he will now become the Chairman of AFC Competitions Committee and Chairman of AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 Organizing Committee.
 
Whilst Mr Hani Ballan, a member of QFA board, CEO of Qatar Stars League (QSL) and Chairman of QFA Referees Department became the Deputy Chairman of the AFC Refereeing Committee.
 
Also a number of QFA and QSL officials were chosen as members in other AFC committees, such Mansour Al Ansari, QFA General Secretary & CEO, Ahmed Al Harami, CEO of QSLM Competitions & Football Development, Tareq Al Neama and Fahad Thani.
 
This is the first time a Qatari citizen will assume the position of Chairman of AFC Competitions Committee as well as the Deputy Chairman of AFC Refereeing Committee.
 
Saoud Al Mohannadi was elected Vice President of the AFC during the elections conducted last April in Bahrain. 
 
Mr Hani Ballan was member of the AFC Refereeing Committee during the 2011/15 cycle, he possesses vast amounts of experience in both refereeing and managerial work, in addition to the fact that he is a former international referee and currently AFC & FIFA referee assessor and instructor.
