DOHA: Former Qatar Stars League (QSL) champions Al Gharafa on Tuesday lost a friendly game against the Qatar national side 3-1.
The game was scheduled to give both sides match practice as friends turned foes at Al Sadd Stadium.
Qatar national side is preparing for their September 1 clash against Iran on Tehran. The upcoming game is a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
Al Gharafa are preparing for the new QSL season that kicks off on September 15.
Rodrigo Tabata's goal was followed by a double from Mohammed Muntari that lifted Qatar while Mahdi Ali fired one home for Al Gharafa.
Both sides continue their training in Doha.
