Former QNB Stars League champions Al Gharafa will take on Al Nasr of Oman in the opening match of a Friendly Tournament on Sunday.

Teams from Qatar, Egypt, Tunisia and hosts Oman are featuring in the tournament.

The match will be played at Al Saada Stadium in Salalah.

Ismaily of Egypt and SC Sfaxien of Tunisian are the other teams in the tournament.

The Organizing Committee of the event held a technical meeting on Saturday in which Saad Sattam Al Shammari, Vice President of Al Gharafa, met with football officials. Matters pertaining to the event were discussed in detail.

Al Gharafa are in Oman to prepare for the new QNB Stars League season which kicks off on August 4 at two venues with the involvement of all the 12 sides.

Al Gharafa were in the Netherlands for a pre-season training camp that was held from July 1 to 18.

The Qatari side featured in a number of friendly matches during their pre-season training camp.

Coach Christian Gourcuff made the most of the time spent in Europe to work on his starting line-up for the new season.
