
: Al Arabi have kicked off their pre-season training phase with their first team huddle at the club premises.
Al Arabi, who finished the 2017-18 season in seventh spot, trained under the watchful eyes of Croatian coach Luka Bonacic and his assistant Lotfi Raisi.
The first training session also saw Syrian import Ahmed Saleh in action and the entire squad of 22 players at the club headquarters. Saleh has replaced Ivan Fustar whose contract was not renewed for the new season.
Brazilian midfielder Diego Jardel is also with the team.
The Al Arabi squad underwent physical fitness drills before winding up with light action. The club's first phase of training will continue this entire week before Bonacic's squad sets for Europe for a two-week training camp in Slovenia.
Al Arabi's European journey will last from July 5 to 22. Bonacic's side will also play four friendlies during their training camp in Slovenia.
The team's first friendly on July 9 will be against Serbia's FK Vozdovac, one of the first division teams. Al Arabi's second friendly is scheduled against FC Kapsover, a second division outfit in the Hungarian league on July 14.
The third friendly friendly will be on July 18 against Slovenia's FC Nafta while the fourth and the final game will be against Hungary's ZTE on July 21.
The new QNB Stars League season kicks off on August 4.
