Al Ahli's influential striker Meshaal Abdullah on Thursday assured he will be fit for his team's key Qatar Stars League (QSL) clash against Al Rayyan next week, saying his injury was not serious as thought of two days ago.

Abdullah dislocated a shoulder bone in the game against Lekhwiya in round 12 and went off the field in the 4-0 loss.

“I underwent some medical tests on Thursday morning with the team doctor," Abdullah said on Thursday in an interview with QSL website.

"I am no longer in any pain. I will try to catch up with my team mates for our next game against Al Rayyan in round 13," he added.

"This will be the toughest game for us during this season and I want to be ready for this match," he added.

Abdullah stressed that his injury isn’t serious and he had suffered from similar discomfort with the Qatar National Team.

"After I left the field of play, the medical staff instantly handled my injury and returned the dislocated bone shoulder to its normal position just to make sure everything is right," Abdullah said on Thursday.

The striker spoke about the team results during recent games.

"We are not satisfied with the results that we have got recently.
There are some reasons behind this such as injuries and absence of key players," he said.

Abdullah added that he wanted to return to the side as soon as possible, saying Al Ahli want to do well against Al Rayyan.

“We as players sat together on Thursday morning and discussed the current status of the team, hoping to get back to our usual good performances," Abdullah said

Al Ahli are 9th on the QSL points table with only 14 points from 12 matches.
