DOHA : Qatar Stars League (QSL) outfit Al Ahli lost to Baniyas of the UAE in a friendly played in the Netherlands, the club announced on Monday.
 
Both teams are in the Netherlands for pre-season training camps.
Baniyas won the friendly 2-0.
 
Earlier, Al Ahli also lost to Antalya of Turkey.
 
Luka Bonačić, coach of Al Ahli, made a number of experiments in playing tactics to give most of his players a run on the pitch.
 
The team will return to Doha soon and continue training, the club announced.
 
Al Ahli's influential striker and captain Meshal Abdullah is away on national duty and missed the game.
 
Another key player to miss the game was the club's Iranian import midfielder Mojtaba Jabbari who is also away on national duty.
 
The two will be back for Al Ahli before the start of the new QSL season on September 15 when they take on Al Gharafa.
 
The first game of the season will be played on Al Ahli's home turf.
