The signing of Abubakar will be seen as a direct replacement for fellow Qatar international Abdulkarim Hassan, who made the move to KAS Eupen. Abubakar is a vastly experienced defender, having previously played with El Jaish.
Al Sadd management will be hoping that Abubakar can add to the side, which will be targeting to lift the QSL falcon shield building on the success of the Qatar & Emir cup double last season.
In other news, Al Sadd also confirmed that young attacker Hamza Sanhaji has headed to KAS Eupen on loan for the season. Sanhaji will be hoping to gain some vital experience whilst away in Belgium with the side.
