1. Fastest goal in league history
Blink and you may have missed it, but within 10 seconds Al Arabi took the lead against league leaders Lekhwiya in round 23 of the QSL. The goal, scored by Brazilian striker Junior Dutra is officially the fastest goal scored ever in the QSL, beating the previous record held by team-mate Askan Dejagh by a full 10 seconds. Despite taking a super early lead Arabi could not hold on for the win, with Lekhwiya coming back from behind with 10 men to secure a 2-1 victory.

2.Four goal haul for Keșerü
Al Gharafa looked in supreme form against bottom of the league Al Shamal in week 23 of the QSL. The Cheetah’s winter signings of Bolanios, Santos & Claudiu Keseru scored all 7 of their sides goals in a comprehensive victory.  Of the new signings the Romanian striker Keseru was the most dangerous, typifying Gharafa’s ruthless streak. In the second half he grabbed three goals in fifteen minutes to add to his goal on the 7th minute. Keșerü is the latest player to grab four goals in the QSL, the last time that was achieved was four goals for Al Rayyan midfielder Rodrigo Tabata back in 2012.
3. Shamal Relegated.
Al Shamal became the first side to be relegated from the QSL in the 2014/2015 season. A heavy defeat to Al Gharafa was not enough to stop Dragan Cvetkovic’s side confirm their drop into the Qatar Gas league. The Musketeers looked like they simply gave up against Gharafa, and it showed with the side conceding five goals in the second half. Credit must go to Shamal’s keeper Eddine Chinhab who pulled off a host of saves, otherwise Shamal could have been looking at double figures.

4. Relegation battle heating up.
With Shamal relegated the focus now turns to Al Wakrah & Al Shahania who are fighting for survival. Wakrah held on for an important 3 points against Al Salilya winning 3-2 in a tight game. Wakrah raced to a three goal lead with all goals scored in a manic 7 minute spell. However in the second half, the Waves lacked composure and let Salilya back into the tie with sloppy defensive mistakes. The result pulls Wakrah out of the relegation zone at the expense of Shahania who lost to El Jaish 3-1. Shahania did grab a stunning conciliation courtesy of striker Luchio fantastic free kick for the Oryxes.

5. Sadd convincing without stars.
Al Sadd produced a comprehensive victory over Al-Khor 5-1 in round 23 of the QSL. Even more impressive was that the victory came without star men Khalfan Ibrahim and Hassan Al Haidos in the matchday squad. A brace from Brazilian striker Muriqui helped the Wolves progress against a stubborn Khor side. With the gap between Sadd and Lekhwiya at seven points, the league seems almost impossible to capture now. However Sadd are currently sitting top of their AFC Champions league group. Don’t be surprised if Amotta’s men go on a Champions league run.
