<span dir="LTR">DOHA: Qatar Stars League (QSL) Al Shahaniya on Wednesday unveiled Igor Stimac of Croatia as their new coach.</span><br />
<br />
<span dir="LTR">Stimac will head the team for the remaining part of the QSL season, club officials said.</span><br />
<br />
<span dir="LTR">The Croatian replaces Portuguese Jose Fernando who was relieved of his duties as coach following a 10-0 hammering at the hands of Lekhwiya in a round 13 clash last week.</span><br />
<br />
<span dir="LTR">Al Shahaniya football chief Manahi Al Shammari was present at the unveiling ceremony.</span><br />
<br />
<span dir="LTR">In a statement, Al Shammari said: "We welcome Mr Igor Stimac to Al Shahaniya. We will rely on him to guide our team in the last four months of the season."</span><br />
<br />
<span dir="LTR">"We wish him success in the coming period," the statement added.</span><br />
<br />
<span dir="LTR">Stimach, 49, was a Croatian international and featured in the 1998 FIFA World Cup held in France. He also played for EPL side West Ham in England.</span><br />
<br />
<span dir="LTR">As a coach, Stimac was in charge of the Croatian national team from</span><br />
<span dir="LTR">2012 to 2013.</span><br />
<br />
<span dir="LTR">In club football, he has had brief spells in charge of Hajduk Split, Cibalia, NK Zagreb and Zadar.</span><br />
