Former champions Al Sadd will play host to Al Sailiya on Friday with aims of picking up points as they look to close gap on league leaders Al Rayyan.

Third-placed Al Sadd - who lost to Lekhwiya last week - have 21 points from 10 matches. Friday's encounter at Al Sadd Stadium will be new coach Jesualdo Ferreira's first game in charge. Ferreira took over a few days ago.

The veteran coach has pledged 'total commitment' as Al Sadd try to move closer to top two sides Al Rayyan (30 points) and El Jaish (23).

Visitors Al Sailiya, placed 10th on the points table, will be eager to repeat last week's performance when they beat Qatar SC 5-0 at Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium.

Al Sailiya will be tested once again playing on foreign soil but the visitors must show consistency on the pitch if they wish to avoid dropping further in the pecking order.
