Lusail coach Emanuel Mesquita spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 3 match against Al Wakrah.

“Our objective is to maintain the impressive performance we displayed against Al Ahli in the second round of the league, a match that ended in a 3-3 draw.

“Our performance in the last match against Al Ahli gives us the confidence to continue working hard and fighting in every game. We hope to be ready against Al Wakrah and achieve a positive result.

“Al Wakrah are a strong team with considerable experience. Their recent loss to Al Rayyan will give them extra motivation to bounce back against Lusail, but we are prepared for all scenarios.

“The fans are the heart of football. We play for them and their support means a great deal to us. We eagerly await their presence at our upcoming match against Al Wakrah,” said Mesquita.

Lusail player Saud Jibril said, “Al Wakrah are a strong team with extensive experience in the league and the match will be difficult, as is the case with all teams. Everyone has prepared well for the current season and we expect a competitive and tough match. Our goal is to come away with a positive result.”
