Al Gharafa will face Al Sadd in the first semifinal of Qatar Cup 2026 at the Khalifa International Stadium on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. The kick-off is at 5pm.
It is a clash between two prominent teams with legitimate ambitions of making it to the final and compete for the prestigious trophy.
A thrilling encounter is expected as both teams will fight tooth and nail to advance into the final, where they will face the winner of other semifinal between Al Shamal and Al Rayyan.
Al Sadd enter the match, having won the 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League, while Al Gharafa had finished fourth in the league last season.
Both teams boast a number of talented players capable of delivering a strong performance. Al Sadd will be relying on their attacking prowess, featuring Roberto Firmino, Akram Afif, Claudinho, Hassan Al Haydous and others.
On the other hand, Al Gharafa will bank on their talented attacking duo of Frank Magri and Yacine Brahimi, in addition to Ferjani Sassi, Fabricio Diaz, Saifeldeen Fadlalla and others.
Al Sadd are looking to continue their successful run in the Qatar Cup by qualifying for the final once again and to claim a fifth title, having earlier won in 2017, 2020, 2021 and 2025. The Wolves have played in every edition of the cup since inception under its current name in 2014. This is Al Sadd’s 11th successive appearance.
