DOHA : Qatar Stars League (QSL) giants Lekhwiya produced a feisty 1-1 contest against visiting Dubai XI in a friendly played at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium.

After a goalless first half, Lekhwiya's Nam-tae Hee opened the scoring after converting following a pass from team mate Ali Afif in the 50th minute.

However, the visiting side hit back quickly by producing the equalizer in the 55th minute.

Both teams orchestrated threatening moves in the second half that eventually passed off without any more goals.

The friendly was scheduled as Lekhwiya is seeking match practice ahead of the start of the new QSL season next month.

Soon after the match, Lekhwiya coach Djamel Belmadi announced a five-day break for the players.

Lekhwiya, one of the most consistent teams in QSL, will resume training on August 27.

On September 12, Lekhwiya take on Al Rayyan in the one-off Sheikh Jassim Cup game.
