Al Khor and Al Sailiya played a 2-2 draw at the Saoud Abdulrahman stadium tonight in round 17 of the Qatar Stars league.<br />
<br />
With Al Sailiya in 8th and Al Khor in 9th this was a six pointer that neither side could afford to lose. <br />
<br />
Sailiya broke the deadlock first scoring on the 7th minute; the goal came courtesy of Abd al-Rahman al-Harazi.  The Peregrines succeeded in maintaining their lead throughout the first 45 minutes despite some good chances for Al Khor.<br />
<br />
After the restart Al Khor started strongly and Julio Cesar found himself taking a penalty in the 53rd minute, however he missed and the home side then had to wait until the 73rd minute to spare his blushes.<br />
<br />
The equalizer came courtesy of Marcos Antonio who sent the home fans into raptures, after showing a solid work ethic and never say die attitude throughout the night  to get the goal (73’).<br />
<br />
However the Peregrines responded immediately, in large part because of lady luck, when on the 75th minute Mustafa Jalal misjudged a cross from the left and put the ball into his own net, thereby handing the lead back to Al Sailiya.<br />
<br />
But there was to be one more twist in the tale, Julio Cesar who had earlier missed a penalty found redemption when on the 80th minute he leveled the scores once more, making it two apiece going into the final ten minutes of the game.<br />
<br />
The result was fair on reflection as neither side dominated but both coaches will be frustrated as they are still mathematically not safe from relegation.
