QSL Al Rayyan fell to a 5-1 defeat to Al Wahda on Monday evening, to leave their AFC Champions League round of 16 qualification hopes in doubt.<br />

The Lions opened the scoring away in Abu Dhabi through Spanish striker Sergio Garcia in the 16<sup>th</sup> minute. However Al Wahda struck back on the 28<sup>th</sup> minute through Ahmed Al Akberi who leveled the scores.<br />

At the stroke of half-time Al Wahda took the lead after a powerful Balasz Dzsudzsak’s strike came of Wahda striker Sebastian Tagliabue. In the second half Wahda scored a further three goals to register their first win in the AFC Champions League in emphatic style.<br />

The result still leaves Al Rayyan in second place in group D with a tally of 7 points. The Lions are set to take on already qualified Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia at home in two weeks’ time, in what promises to be a crucial match for Michael Laudrup’s side.
