Al Khor football team manager Youssef Jaffal said that the experience and background of the new French head coach Jean Fernandez gives him hope.  He added that the Frenchman is one of many distinguished coaches that the club has had and that he has a good reputation in the Gulf region.

Jean Fernandez assumed the position of Al-Khor football club head coach, he replaces Romanian tactician Boloni, who has been moved to the position of the club’s top technical staff for three seasons.

Youssef Jaffal said in a statement to QSL Online, “Al-Khor Football Club has had the honour of being graced by prominent coaches, who have achieved successes with the team. Often they have gone on to assume bigger positions with many national teams, such as the French head coach Alain Perrin who is now the head coach of the Chinese National Team.

Youssef Jaffal said that he wishes the new head coach much luck and he hopes he can accomplish similar levels of success, saying, “As I mentioned before, we are not satisfied with our 10th position finish in the league table.”

Youssef Jaffal added that there were some mistakes which occurred during last season in both the domestic league and the Emir Cup, saying, “There is no such thing as a perfect team with no mistakes, but the most important thing is to learn from these mistakes. We have high hopes not to fall victim to the same mistakes in the upcoming season.  Next season will be tough, especially with the return of Al-Rayyan.”
