Al Rayyan Sports Club convened a press conference on Sunday evening to introduce their new foreign signing the Uruguayan Gonzalo Viera for one season on a loan basis. The player’s contract however stipulates that a full transfer can occur in the event of good performances.

The press conference was convened in the presence of Al Rayyan’s Sports Club Board Member Mohamed Al Shiba, the Club Head of Football Ali Salem Ofaifah, the Team Manager Mazkar Al Shafi and the Club Media Officer Sahan Al Shammari.

At the beginning of the press conference Ali Salem Ofaifah said that the player signed the contract after passing a series of medical tests. Ofaifa was keen to praise the spectators who attended the press conference as well as the football matches so far this season. 

Ali Salem Ofaifah said that Viera will join the training sessions from Sunday and it will be up to Fossati to decide whether he will participate in the next game versus Umm Salal in Round 3 of the QSL.

Viera also spoke at the press conference and said, “Fossati is one of the key factors which contributed to my transfer.”

Viera praised the huge fan base that Al Rayyan has, adding that it is always a pleasure to play for a team with loyal fans that will help in creating success at the club.
