QSL side Umm Salal has announced the signing of Uzbekistan international Sanzhar Tursunov from the Ukrainian Club Vorskla Poltava. Tursunov is set to replace Iranian midfielder Andreniak Temorian who left the club by mutual consent earlier in the month.

Tursunov put pen to paper on an eighteen month contact on Tuesday evening in the presence of the Club General Secretary Khalid Al Abdel Jabbar after passing a medical at Aspetar.

 Umm Salal has been busy in the transfer window, signing Moroccan international striker Mounir El Hamdaoui from dutch side AZ Alkmar, who has replaced French striker Jérémie Aliadière. The club also confirmed that no further deals will be made by the end of the January transfer window.

Both Tursunov & El Hamdaoui could be in contention for Umm Salal’s match of the week clash against current QSL league leaders AL Rayyan. The new signings both participated in training on Tuesday evening with their new team-mates.

El Jaish face Al Rayyan in the QSL match of the week for Round 16. The match will be played at Al Gharafa stadium, kick-off at 4:30pm.
