Umm Salal have announced the signing of  defender Welinton Souza, from Brazilian club Flamenco on a one year deal. The player under went a medical and signed his contract in front of club officials.The player can play across the defence and will be a versitle addition to the squad.

Umm Salal are set to travel to their preseason training camp in the Netherlands on the 2nd of August, as part of their preparations for the new season they will face fellow Qatar Stars League side Al Rayyan. The Qatar Stars league season starts on the 11th of September.
