Umm Salal registered their second win of this QSL season thanks to two last gasp goals to defeat  Mesaimeer 3-0. This comprehensive victory finally put an end to a three-match streak where Salal couldn't win a game enduring two draws and a loss in that period.

The first goal for Umm Salal came in the 24th minute. A well worked  short freekick and a flick from Andranik Timorian went into the path of Ismail Mahmoud who ran in unmarked behind the wall to hit it past the goalkeeper. It was a clever piece of freekick trickery which saw Mahmoud get his first goal of this season.

The first half ended 1-0 despite Salal  having the  majority of the chances. The second half too followed a similar script with Salal mounting dominating and Mesaimeer hoping to take their opponents on the counter. Neither team was able to score and the stand-off continued until the very end of the game when Salal hit two goals within two minutes for a grandstand finish.

The first of those came in the 89th minute and this time it was Mahmoud who turned provider running down the flank and then crossing it into the centre where substitute Dheyab Alinabi calmly tapped it in. Then in the 91st minute Jeremy Alaidaire delivered a precise long ball from the deep, perfectly into the path of Yannick Sagbo who calmly flicked it over the Mesaimeer goalkeeper Basel Zaidan and then tapped it in.

Mesaimmer coach Rodion Gacanin didn't look a happy man with his team's effort. The Flames promotion from the Qatar Gas League hasn't been a happy one as they are languishing at the bottom of the table, still searching for their first win in the QSL.

Salal coach Bulent Uygun will be happy with his team's performance and getting back to winning ways. They play Al Sailiya next and will be looking to use the confidence from this match to get back to back victories.
