The eleventh round of action saw five players make their mark for their sides with impressive performances from both local and professional players. As ever, we take a look over the difference makers in our regular stars of the league feature.

Round eleven saw Al Shahania pick up another score draw with a 1-1 tie with Al Ahli. The Oryxes took the lead through midfielder Abdullah Al-Yazidi who has been one of the standout performers in Jose Fernando’s side in recent weeks. The Qatari player has played for a host of sides in the league and has thrived in his attacking midfield role this season. Fernando will be hoping his number seventeen can step up when Shahania take on Al Khor next time out.
A brace from attacker Sardor Rashidov spared league leader El Jaish’s blushes with a 2-1 win over Muaither. The Uzbeksitan international struck on the first minute of the tie and the winner with five minutes to give Sabri Lamouchi’s boys an important win to ensure that they ended round eleven at the top of the QSL standings.

Rashidov has improved in front of goal in his second season with the soldiers and so far has six goals to his name this term. The young winger is well on target to beat last season’s tally of nine goals, and will be hoping for a start when Jaish take on Al Gharafa in one of the standout ties of round twelve.

Al Sailiya arguably put in the performance of the round in defeating Al Gharafa 2-1 on Sunday evening at Al Ahli stadium. Sami Trabelsi’s boys stopped Al Gharafa’s five game winning streak thanks goals from returning hero Faouzi Aaish and young attacker Mohammed Muddather.

Muddather stood out for the Peregines in his attacking role, and grabbed his fourth goal of the season with a smartly taken volley mid-way through the first half. Trabelsi will be hoping that Muddather can add to his goal tally when Sailiya take on title chasing Al Sadd.

Tunisian attacker Yusef Msakni’s return to the Lekhwiya starting lineup proved to be crucial for the Red Knights as they claimed a narrow 2-1 win over bottom of the table Al Kharaitiyat. Msakni looked like Lekhwiya’s most dangerous player in attack in the first half, forcing Thunders keeper Ahmed Soufiane to make a host of fine saves.

Lekhwiya fell behind early in the second half, but the tricky Tunisian was on hand to grab an equalizer with a well placed near post header. The victory means that Lekhwiya keep the pressure on league leaders El Jaish at the top of the QSL standings.

Al Sadd put on an attacking masterclass to register the biggest win so far of the QSL season, hammering sorry Umm Salal 8-0. Jesaldo Ferriera’s side didn’t let up over the ninty minutes. However it was one of the Wolves defenders who caught the eye during the win.

Qatar international Pedro scored his side’s third goal of the tie, with arguably the best goal of the game bending the ball into the top corner from outside the box. The former Al Ahli man is part of the reason why Sadd have yet to concede this season and strikes like that deservedly give Pedro a place in our standout player list.
