The first 20 minutes were a tentative affair but in the end it was the home side Shahania who took the lead in the 33rd minute courtesy of Abdullah Ali Ahmed. It was a wonderful free kick from just outside the area that left the keeper rooted to the spot.
And that’s how it stayed until the two sides came out for the second half.
After the restart Shamal took the initiative and dominated the majority of the play. However it wasn’t until the second minute of extra time when they finally found the equalizer Saoud tucked it away.
The result was a tough one to swallow as the boys in blue were only a minute way from bagging all three points and exiting the relegation zone.
