Umm Salal has been dealt a major injury blow ahead of their Friday evening clash against El Jaish. The club took to social media last night to confirm that Ivorian Yannick Sagbo striker will miss the tie after straining his calf muscle in training.

The news will be a big blow for head coach Bülent Uygun, as Sagbo is considered to be a key player within the Umm Salal setup. Sagbo will now begin rehab for the injury and is expected to be fit for selection in ten days’ time.

Meanwhile the remainder of the Umm Salal squad trained ahead of their fifth round clash against El Jaish. The Orange Fortress has started the season strongly, and have yet to taste defeat this season. They currently sit in sixth place in the QSL standings, with six points from their opening four games.
