“We know that we have started our QSL season with three defeats but during those games we showed good performances especially against Lekhwiya. But in football you have these moments that can happen in the game that you can't control. All around the world you can see that teams that have won the title last season are in a different situation at this point.”

“But there's a long season ahead of us. A lot of things can happen. We need to get that first win under our belts to kick-start our campaign.”

“I believe we have played well so far. Statistically we are better than a lot of teams. So if media wants to criticise the team that's alright. But they shouldn't target a single player. We just need one win to turn around our fortunes around.”

“Our job as coaches and management is to prepare our players mentally. Last season we lost 8-9 games and still managed to finish fourth. The physical ability is there but we need to work on psychological aspects.” 

“All teams in QSL are strong and difficult. Salal has stability from last season. They have the same coach and almost the same players. They drew against Sadd and created problems for Rayyan despite losing. They are a good team and have good tactical discipline. We can see the influence of the coach. The results have helped the team to prepare well. We want to prepare well for this game and win this game. We are looking at it as the start of our season. We will now try to improve our performance even though we have done well in the matches so far.”

“Last week against Rayyan we lost the game and so for this game against Qatar we will be like a wounded lion. We have no choice except to play for a win. Our ambition is to play to win and to collect the maximum points. But we know that the game will not be easy. We have some tactics in mind which we will employ to get the win. We have to prepare in the best way possible. The current position that Qatar club is in, having lost their first three games, is not a good one. But that doesn't mean that we will have it easy against them. We have to expect that they will come at us strongly in this match.”
 
“We are also suffering with some injuries. Fabio, Jeremy and Rami Fayez are all injured. Nasser Khalfan has been called into the national team. These absences will affect our team because we have a small squad. But we will do our best to put in a strong.”
