Al Arabi head into their QSL match of the weekend encounter against Al Sadd on a high following a 2-0 win against Al Gharafa last time out. Dream team boss Osvaldo Olivera spoke to the local media ahead of the game. 

Olivera opened up the press conference hailing his sides efforts in the league last time out.“The win against Al Gharafa was a confidence booster, I think that we are on the right track and that will aid our performances in the upcoming games in the league. We executed our game-plan well and took advantage of the space that Al Gharafa gave us in defence.” 

“We have many players off through injury and suspension in every game so right now I cannot have a settled team. That said, we have been doing well in training and will be looking to cause an upset against Al Sadd” noted the Brazilian coach during the pre-match press conference.

Olivera ended the press conference talking up the qualities of striker Yusef Ahmed “He’s a fast, intelligent player. We need to get him to have the right motivation going into games, but I think that if we can do that he will be a fantastic asset for Al Arabi club.”



Al Sadd will be looking to keep pace with league leaders Lekhwiya with a victory over old rivals Al Arabi on Thursday evening. Wolves boss Jesaldo Ferriera spoke to the media ahead of the match. 

Opening up the press conference, Ferriera noted that he is expecting a challange when Al Sadd take on Al Arabi.“We are playing a derby match against Al Arabi, it will be a tough game for us. Al Arabi have had a tough season, but they can still cause us trouble. The side who commits the least number of mistakes will win. My side knows well that we must win to keep pressure on Lekhwiya.” 

“We are hoping that Lekhwiya drop points against Umm Salal. It will be a tough game against Al Arabi for us, but my side knows what they have to do to get the win. Al Sadd since last season went 23 games undefeated in the league, that shows the quality we have here at the club” added the Portuguese coach at the pre-match press conference on Wednesday evening. 

Ferriera ended the press conference stressing that his side must only win against Al Arabi. “We have to fight till the very end in our matches in the league now. Even if we win all of our remaining games we have to hope Lekhwiya drop points along the way. All I can do is make sure that Al Sadd wins, and Lekhwiya lose.”
