Umm Salal take on Al Ahli in round twenty of the QSL. The match will take place at the QSC stadium on Friday evening.Umm Salal are in the seventh position just behind their opponents. The Orange fortress will give it their all as the three points will have them replace Al Ahli in sixth and give them their first win in five games.
Mahmoud Jaber, the head coach of Umm Salal, mentioned that his team was struggling with absences; “Every team has ambitions and we are working to achieve our targets, our situation is getting better and injured players are getting back. Absences affected us negatively but with the returning players we hope we can get points.”
“We have a good opponent who are playing well despite the result against Rayyan last week. It will be a tough game between the sixth and seventh position holders in the table,” added the Egyptian head tactician at the press conference on Wednesday.
Jaber also gave an injury update, “Salem Khalifa and Aboubakar are injured. Absences are normal for all teams and in the Al Khor game we had many injured players but it depends if you have good players to replace them.”
Al Ahli suffered a big 5-1 defeat at home to Al Rayyan last week. The Brigadiers will be looking to bounce back against Umm Salal and keep their position in the table. Yousef Adam, the head coach of Al Ahli, is happy with his new signings, “They help us improve our game and now we believe we have some of the best players in the league. Chikhaoui, Adel Ahmed and Ali Ferydoon are playing well and are a great addition to our team.”
Speaking about missing players, Adam added, “I am working hard with the other players to be on the same stage as the missing players. The players did their job and did the best they can and they have to be disciplined. I am satisfied with the team”
“Last match we had more chances than the opponent, however, we made two big mistakes. I don’t want to blame the whole team for them. As for the result, none of us are satisfied,” added the Qatari head coach.
