Umm Salal vs Al Sadd kicks off 18:00 this Thursday at the Jassim Bin Hamad stadium.

Umm Salal head coach Uygun Bülent
“In our first game against Al Khor, we did well and we won 2-0. That will motivate us more for the next game. We hope we will be ready like we were for the first game. We are playing a strong team and if we are ready then we can do well against them. Sadd is a team of stars and big players. They have good individual qualities too. But we as Umm Salal have our strategy and tactics and also the will to do well against them. We want to have a good game so that the supporters will enjoy it. I want to invite the supporters to come and watch the game because it will be a very good game that’s for sure.”

“In QSL, we have 4-5 big teams - Sadd, Lekhwiya, Jaish, Gharafa and Rayyan - who want to win the title. But this is football. Nothing is impossible. Even if you are playing a strong team, if you are ready and willing, you can win. You have to have the fighting spirit to win. We will use tactics to counter Sadd and use every possible quality we possess to defeat them.”

Al Sadd Head Coach Hussein Ammota
“Game by game our concentration will increase and we will become stronger. We expect the second round to be better than the first. For us, as a team playing for the title, our target will be three points from every game. Our matches against Umm Salal have never been easy and this one won't be either. They have a good team that defends well and also have quick counter attacks. The game will not be easy and we will have to be careful about the counter attacks from Sagoba. We need to be focussed and convert our opportunities into goals.”

“When we try to attack then you leave some space behind but that's a risk and we have the ability play like that - to play an attacking game and come back in time to defend. The most important thing is timing - knowing when to attack and when to defend.”

“Ibrahim Majed will be absent but the others will be present.”

“Against Mesaimeer, we didn't have a very difficult game but against Salal it's going to be very different. Also, because we are playing a team with big experience and big players and quality we will have to be careful.  However we have to reach our target to score goals, get three points and find solutions against a difficult team. The most important thing is to convert our opportunities into goals.”

“I think the positive thing is that we will play in our stadium. Even if we can say that home or away is not too different here because the stadiums are close to each other. But when we play in our stadium, it makes us more comfortable.”

“Whether Khalfan will play or not will depend on the scenario of the game. Maybe he can come towards the end. He needs time to come back to 100 per cent fitness.”

“I was happy with Muriqui's hat trick last week. For two seasons we missed a striker. Now we have Muriqui. And add to that Xavi, Haydous and Khalfan will be key assets for us this season.”
