The sixth round of QSL action will kick off on Wednesday and will involve four games with sides looking to make a real impact at the top of the table.
In the early 17:20 KO at Al Arabi stadium will see in-form Al Shahania take on third placed Al Sadd. Shahania are now undefeated in four QSL games, and have put on quite the run of form under Portuguese coach Jose Fernando. Last time out they registered an impressive 2-1 win over Al Sailiya leaving them in fifth place going into the game.
As for Al Sadd they dropped point’s last time out in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Al Gharafa. Jesaldo Ferriera will be targeting to get back on track against a feisty Shahania side. Al Sadd captian Xavi will have to be in fine form if the Wolves are to grab all three points.
In the same 17:20 KO Al Khor will take on table topping Lekhwiya. The hosts will be looking to build on their 3-1 win over Al Ahli last time out. Jean Fernandez’s side tends to do well against the bigger teams and will be looking for another eye catching result.
As for Lekhwiya, they are sitting pretty at the top of the QSL standings. Last time they beat the ten men of Al Arabi comprehensively 4-1. Top scorer Yusef El Arabi has been in scintillating form in front of goal this season, and will be expected to fire the Red Knights to glory.
The late 19:30 KO at Al Sadd stadium, will see reigning QSL champions Al Rayyan take on Al Ahli, who have welcomed back Yusef Adam as head coach for the side. Al Rayyan registered a 3-1 win over Al Kharitiyat last time out, and Michael Laudrup will be targeting back to back wins for his side.
As for Al Ahli they have turned to a familiar face in Yusef Adam, who guided the Brigadeers to fifth place last season. Experienced coach Adam will be targeting a statement first win over the QSL champions.
The final late KO, will see Al Sailiya take on El Jaish at Al Ahli stadium. The pergrines have endured a torrid start to the QSL season, and only have one point to their name. Sami Trabelsi’s side will be looking to spring an upset against an El Jaish side that have yet to taste defeat this season.
As for the visitors El Jaish, they have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season and are in second place with thirteen points from a possible fifteen. Sabri Lamouchi’s young side has looked unstoppable in attack in recent weeks, and will be targeting more of the same against a Al Sailiya side who are prone to leaking goals.
