The first game of Round 17 will see El Jaish face Al Kharitiyat at Al Sadd stadium K.O at 16:30pm. El Jaish will be looking to get back to winning ways after suffering a shock defeat at the hands of Al Khor last time out.

Sabri Lamouchi will be looking for a reaction from his side, and will see a clash against twelfth placed Al Kharitiyat as an ideal match to keep pressure on both Lekhwiya and Al Rayyan above them.

Al Kharitiyat suffered a last gasp defeat at the hands of Lekhwiya in round 16. Amir Osim’s side will be hoping to frustrate Jaish and help them to pull away from the QSL relegation zone.

The Thunders are currently seven points ahead of thirteenth placed QSC in the QSL relegation zone, and know a run of bad results could pull them right into trouble. Kharitiyat will be looking to new striker Issiar Dia to be amongst the goals.

In the late kick-off Al Sadd will face Al Ahli at Al Sadd stadium, K.O at 19:15pm. Al Sadd should have their January signings Pedro and Morteza Pouraliganji available for selection, and will be hoping for an upturn in fortunes following their 3-1 defeat to Al Wakrah.

For Al Ahli, they will be managed by caretaker coach Youseff Adam. The former Alhi assistant was given the top job after the resignation of Croatian head coach Zlatko Kranjcar after a string of poor results.

Former El Jaish coach Adam will be hoping that new signing Mouchine Iajour from Qatar Sports Club will be amongst the goals for the Brigadiers.
