QSL presents the team of the week for the previous round 22 of the 2016/2017 season. All statistics provided for the team of the week have been provided by Stats, the official statistical partner of the QSL.

This week we have three players from Al Sadd who picked up an impressive 4-0 win over struggling Al Khor. Two players from Umm Salal have also made the cut while six other clubs have a player each in the team of the week in the form of Al Shahaniya, Al Rayyan, Al Arabi, Al Ahli, El Jaish and Al Kharaitiyat. First up in the team of the week is Umm Salal stopper Baba Malik who picked up a clean sheet in his side’s narrow 1-0 win over Muaither.

Malik is joined with four defenders, who represent four different teams. At right back we have Umm Salal’s Ismail Dehgani, whilst Al Sadd’s Abdel Karim Hassan gets the nod for left back. Shahaniya’s Alvaro and Nathan from Al Rayyan make up central defense.

In midfield, Al Arabi’s two goal hero Luis Jimenez gets a spot and he is joined by El Jaish’s Seydou Keita who scored a brace in his last outing. Al Sadd captain Xavi Hernandez completes the midfield trio, thanks in part to his performance in the Wolves comprehensive win over Al Khori 4-0.

Finally, Al Sadd’s flying Qatari winger Hassan Haydoos gets a role in the attacking line. Haydoos is also joined by Al Ahli attacker Yassine Chikhaoui. Lastly, Kharaitiyats’s Moroccan sensation Rachid Tiberkanine leads the line, thanks to his two goals against Shahaniya.
