Lekhwiya midfielder Almoez Ali has enjoyed a bright start to his first full season with the The Red Knights. QSL online has decided to focus on the tricky right winger in our weekly QSL Talent feature, where we highlight the brightest young players plying their trade in the QSL this season. Ali has had a part in all eight matches this term, either starting or coming off from the bench. It didn’t take long for the 20 year old winger to making an impact for his team, notching his first goal for his side in a 4-0 opening day win over Muaither.
The youngster has plenty of confidence with the ball at his feet, and has notched up an impressive 82% pass completion rate so far this season. Whilst in front of goal, Ali has not been shy in expressing himself averaging two shots per game this term.
It’s not only in attack that the 20 year old is of use for Lekhwiya. Kamal has averaged 3.4 interceptions in his games this season, proving that the winger is an important asset in both attack and defense of Djamel Belmadi.
Ali has been fast gaining a reputation as a fiesty midfield competitor and an average of 1.5 tackles and 0.9 fouls certainly suggest so. Especially when Ali is often deployed further forward on the pitch.
So with a mixture of solid passing, strong defending and an eye for a tackle Almoez Ali is certainly one to watch for Lekhwiya over the course of the 2016/2017season. Kamal will be hoping he can build on his early season form when Ali take on Al Sailiya in the opening match of the ninth round of QSL action.
