The seventh round of QSL action comes to a conclusion on Sunday with three games involving four sides who have yet to taste defeat this season.
The first game of the day will see second place Al Sadd have a tough away assignment at bottom of the table Al Wakrah. The Blue Waves will welcome Kais Yâakoubi into the dugout for his first game in charge following the dismissal of Uruguayan head coach Mauricio Larriera.
As for the visitors Al Sadd, they registered a fine 4-0 win over Al Shahania prior to the international break. Jesaldo Ferrira’s side have been quietly going about their business putting in impressive performances in the league.
At the same time at Lekhwiya stadium, top of the table El Jaish will take on Al Shahania. Sabri Lamouchi’s side have been in fine form this season and have won five of their opening six games of the season so far.
Al Shahania they will be targeting an upset against the league leaders. The Oryxes will be without key midfielder Khalid Gourmi for the game, and head coach Jose Fernando will be expecting a strong defensive performance from his squad.
Round seven of the QSL season comes to a dramatic end with a match of the week tie between Lekhwiya and reigning QSL champions Al Rayyan in the 18:20 KO at Lekhwiya stadium. The match will also see Rayyan head coach Michael Laudrup return to Lekhwiya, a club who he guided to a domestic double during the 2014/2015 QSL season.
Both sides have yet to be defeated this season, and somthing may have to give in this clash of QSL title contenders.
