Round 24 of the QSL season is bookended with three games featuring the top six teams in the league. All six teams will be pushing for the three points as there are only three rounds left in the season.
The first game of the day will see fifth placed Al Gharafa take on sixth placed Umm Salal at the Al Gharafa stadium at 18:20. Al Gharafa recently parted ways with their head coach Pedro Caixinha and are now under caretaker coach Habib Sidiki .The Cheetahs will aim for the three points as they hope to finish in the top four this season. Umm Salal are seven points behind Al Gharafa and will be looking to close the gap on their rivals and continue their six-match unbeaten run.
Lekhwiya face El Jaish at the Lekhwiya stadium at 20:30 in a match which has big consequences on the title race. League leaders, Lekhwiya are only two points above Al Sadd in the table and a win against El Jaish will bring them one step closer to the Falcon Shield. Sabri Lamouchi’s El Jaish will be gunning for a top four finish this season and ensuring their presence in the AFC Champions League next season.
At the same time, we will also see the kick off of the most exciting fixture in the QSL which is the Qatar Classico between Al Sadd and Al Rayyan at the Al Sadd stadium. This could be a title deciding match for Al Sadd as Jesualdo Ferriera's men hunt for their first trophy since the 2012/2013 season. Third placed Al Rayyan are pretty much out of title contention but revenge will be on their mind as they seek to avenge the 5-0 defeat to their rivals in December.
