Qatar Stars League (QSL) stars Nam Tae-hee of Lekhwiya and Abderrazak Hamdallah of El Jaish head up the list of QSL international stars set to be called up for national duty this week when club games give way to qualifying matches, & international friendlies.
With international football teams around the world preparing for key 2018 FIFA World Cup matches in the coming five days, Lekhwiya's reliable midfielder Tae-hee and El Jaish's prolific striker Hamdallah will join Al Sailiya's Gragos Grigore, Qatar SC's Han Kook young, Al Rayyan's Koh Myongjin and Al Gharafa duo of Krisztian Nemeth and Vlaidmir Weiss on international duty.
Morocco’s new head coach Hervé Renard will be hoping striker Hamdallah - who has scored an impressive 17 goals in his debut QSL season - returns to national duty with similar form when Morocco take on Cape Verde at Stade de Marrakech. The clash this week is part of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualification tournament. Hamadullah, the 25-year-old El Jaish striker, has scored in three out last four QSL games, paving way for his side to be placed in second spot with just three rounds to go in the current QSL season.
Similarly, Al Gharafa winger Vladimir Weiss will be key to Slovakia's cause in international friendly ties. Slovakia will take on Latvia on March 25, as they ramp up preparations for the upcoming Euro 2016 tournament in France. Four days later, Weiss could also be involved in Slovakia's clash against Republic of Ireland at Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
Weiss has scored 8 goals in the QSL this season, with the January signing aiding Al Gharafa to 8th spot after 23 QSL matches. The Cheetah’s have shown indifferent form this season, but Weiss has been one of the shining lights for the former QSL champions. The 26-year-old last scored against Al Sadd two weeks ago and was seen at his feisty best against Al Kharaitiyat in a 1-1 draw last week.
Weiss's Al Gharafa teammate Krisztian Nemeth will be keen to power Hungary's cause in the Mygars’s international friendly against Croatia. Nemeth, the 27-year-old Al Gharafa star, scored in his team's QSL 4-0 rout of Al Sailiya two weeks ago. Overall the January signing has scored 6 goals in just seven starts this season.
Al Sailiya defender Dragos Grigore, will be donning the Romanian national team colours this week. Grigore, 29, is part of the squad to take on a visiting Lithuania outfit. Four days later, Romania will take on former World Cup and European champions Spain. The two teams are preparing for Euro 2016. Grigore scored in Al Sailiya's 1-1 draw against Qatar SC three days ago. Al Sailiya, coached by Sami Trabelsi, are currently in 7th place in the QSL standings.
