The QSL spotlight match for round 21 will see the two bottom sides in the league face off in what will be a relegation six pointer. Al Wakrah welcome Al Shahania to Wakrah stadium knowing that if defeated their chances of survival will take a major blow with just five rounds of the season left to play.

Kais Yâakoubi’s side hasn’t tasted victory in eight QSL matches, and will be targeting all three points to haul themselves on level points with the two promoted sides just above them. Last time out, Al Wakrah fell to their eleventh defeat of the season, after being soundly brushed aside by Al Sadd 3-1.
The Blue Waves are in desperate need of some inspiration and will likely turn to midfielder Mouhcine Moutouali for goals. The Moroccan playmaker marked his return to first team action with a well taken penalty against Sadd. On his day, Moutouali has the potential to pull something from nothing and he will have to be at his brilliant best if Wakrah are to get a positive result from the tie.
As for Al Shahania, they fell to a 2-1 defeat to El Jaish however coach Igor Štimac can gleam plenty of positives against the current Qatar Cup winners.  Al Shahania has become hard to beat under the Croatian and eight draws in the league so far certainly underlines that point. Heading into the final games of the season, Shahania are in desperate need of wins to ensure survival and will see this game as a must win.

Midfield will be a key battle ground in this match, and Al Shahania’s Iranian midfielder Mehrdad Pooladi is likely to get the nod in the Centre of the park. Pooladi is a veteran from Al Shahania’s last stint in the league, and his experience will be vital if the Oryxes are to beat the drop.

Saturday’s game certainly will be one of interest when Al Wakrah take on Al Shahania in a relegation battle in the QSL spotlight match for round 21.
