The QSL spotlight match for round 25 will see the two relegation threatened sides in the league face off in what will be a relegation six pointer. Al Khor welcome Al Shahania to Al Khor stadium knowing that if defeated their chances of survival will take a major blow with just two rounds of the season left to play. Both sides are coming into this game off the back of important wins in the last round.

Jean Fernandez’s side are eleventh in the table with twenty-four points from twenty-four games. The Knights ensured Al Wakrah’s relegation when they defeated them 2-0 in round 24. Al Khor will be looking for the three points against Shahania and they will hope that they don’t face the same fate as Al Wakrah.

Al Khor’s key to success will be their Brazilian star Madson, who played a vital role in their win against Al Wakrah last week. The midfielder scored a beautiful goal to open the scoring for his side and to raise his goal tally to seven this season. The playmaker also provided the assist for the second goal scored by Mouhcine Iajour

As for Al Shahania, they registered a massive win against Al Arabi to keep their survival hopes alive. The Oryxes are now just behind Al Khor in twelfth place with twenty points from twenty-four games. Heading into the penultimate game of the season, Shahania are in desperate need of wins to ensure survival and will see this game as a must win because a loss will confirm their relegation.

Igor Štimac will look to Fahad Khalfan for the much-needed goals. The in-form Qatari forward has scored six goals so far this season and he is the top scorer in the Al Shahania ranks. He will be high on confidence after scoring last week against Al Arabi.

Friday’s game certainly will be one to watch out for when Al Khor take on Al Shahania in a relegation battle in the QSL spotlight match for round 25
