Three games on Saturday will close out round 19 of the QSL season. All six sides will be eager to pick up three points to boost their campaigns in the league.
The first game of the day is the QSL spotlight match when Umm Salal will take on Al Kharaitiyat in the 16:35 KO at Qatar SC stadium. Both sides have been struggling for form as of late, with both sides only registering one win from their last five QSL matches.
Orange Fortress head coach Mahmoud Jaber could call upon new signing Faouzi Aaish who has been picked up on a short term deal from Al Sailiya, whilst Ahmad Al-Ajlani will be counting on attacking midfielder Anwar Diba to re-find his goal scoring touch after not finding the back of the net in the last two matches for his side.
The second match of the day will see top four chasing Al Gharafa welcome relegation threatened Al Wakrah to Gharafa stadium. Pedro Caixina’s boys fell to a 3-0 defeat to Al Sadd and will be eager to get back to winning ways to cut down the five point gap with fourth placed El Jaish. Whilst for Al Wakrah they slumped to a 3-1 defeat to relegation rivals Muaither, and three points are desperately needed for the Blue Waves if they are to harbor any hopes of survival this season.
The final game of the QSL weekend will see Muaither take on Al Arabi. Phillipe Birol’s side perhaps put in their performance of the season last time out with a 3-1 win over Al Wakrah and will be targeting back to back victories against Al Arabi.
As for Arabi, they narrowly lost 1-0 to Lekhwiya in a tightly contested game in round 18. Osvaldo Olivera has yet to register a win as new coach, and the Brazilian tactician will be hoping for a positive result against one of the struggling sides in the league.
