Kick off 16:00 at Qatar Sports Club stadium. Sunday November 22.

Lekhwiya Head Coach Djamel Belmadi
“This match against Al Khor is really important for us. Our preparation for this match hasn't been great because more than 90 percent of the squad was away with the national and the Olympic teams during the break. However despite these circumstances Lekhwiya will play this game looking to win and also looking to improve our performance.”

“I believe in my players and I am confident in their ability to cope with the difficult situation that the team is currently experiencing. Lekhwiya players are professionals who have been used to winning matches and championships. They have the ability to correct the course and restore the team to the position it deserves to be in. The players will ensure that we will return strongly.”

“I respect all my rivals who are in the top positions right now but I am only focussed on my team and getting them to do better. That's what I have been telling my players in all the training sessions.”

“There are a lot of factors that are responsible for the current slump that Lekhwiya is experiencing. We have players missing due to their call up to the national teams. We have also had injuries to key players which added to the problems. Any team in the world that is experiencing the problems that Lekhwiya are going through will suffer a similar loss in performance.”

“As for the players who are not available, Ahmed Yasser is suspended and midfielder Karim Boudiaf is not match fit. Chico Flores is still doubtful and Ahmed Abdel-Maqsood is still recovering from the injury he suffered.”

Al Khor Head Coach Jean Fernandez
“We are playing the defending champions and that is never an easy task, despite all the difficulties that they are current experiencing. They have a strong team with players who have good individual qualities and lots of experience.”

“The win over Qatar SC in the last round was an extremely positive one for the team, especially as it gave a lot confidence back to the players. It was our first win in the QSL and it came right before the break. The break helped us to put in a lot of work to correct the mistakes that we had been making.”

“Facing Lekhwiya is always a daunting affair. They are coming off a sequence of bad results, which is why we are expecting a reaction from them when they face us. It will be a difficult match for us but we will work hard and try to achieve a positive result for our fans.”
